howz it?
November 16th - November 26th
Going into Urban Edge for the very first time seems a distant memory, as does meeting my host family. Impossibly enough immediately after spending time with the Savage-Julie family it felt as if I had always known them, no exaggeration intended. I simply can’t think of another way to describe how well we all clicked. On Friday moments after arriving Estelle and I were on our way back to our new home with Rhonda, our mamma bear as she would later be known to us as. She took us under her wing completely and started teaching us about South Africa, it’s history, the people, and the culture.
Aside from time with my host family the time I spent at the Won Life project in Fisantekraal is time I will never forget. Lindsay, the daughter of the lead pastor at Urban Edge and director of Won Life, spent time explaining the heart of the project to us. Lindsay mentioned that they started to reach out to the community through the Won Life Clinic. The clinic was making a difference by meeting physical needs and the staff saw they were helping maintain life. The Urban Life center came from feeling called to help not only maintain life but transform lives. I love that because of Won Life from a very young age children will know they are not only cared about but that they have potential and have people who believe in their future. Lindsay also spoke about Won Life’s future and how they had obtained land and a building to be able to start their own school. The staff of Won life sees providing education as a way to impact the younger generation and help transform the entire community of Fisantekraal. This area of service while in Cape Town made me eager for the future outreach projects and opportunities in Belfast as we currently are experiencing the dreaming forum stage.
Since I have been at CFC I have been exposed to prophecy in a way I never have before. As a direct impact to experiencing prophecy and being taught on it I have learned how it can impact my life. I am so glad the life I am living lead me to meet Robbie Savage and Leslie Sonn. I consider them dear sisters. If I was brought to Cape Town for no other reason than to pray with these ladies I am grateful. God intends for the Body to build each other up with edifying words and for us to overcome through the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.
